Thibault Tourmente - Inventaire Déraisonné 14
The Unreasoned Inventory is a visual archival endeavor. The images, artfully juxtaposed in a form of automatic writing, are exclusively sourced from books which were discovered, then cut out and reassembled. Anatomical details, ancient sculptures, industrial architectures... These images primarily come from encyclopedias, dictionaries, and various other publications that seem outdated in an era where knowledge appears accessible from any screen. These images create a hinterland, a map of representations stored in the mind. This is the fourteenth edition of Thibault Tourmente's Unreasoned Inventory, where the artist continues to craft image compositions from photographs found and clipped from books, magazines, and newspapers. This A4-sized fanzine features black and white photographs, xeroxed onto thin paper.
